pale structures - an altered book in progress

just in case it might seem like there is never anything going on at the artTable at my house any more - wrong! there are still some goings on, but not nearly enough to talk about. &with such a small space, when a project like *this* is happening - with rows and rows of clipped text - a book - and many cut-out images of tiny sheds and various structures - well - there is not much room for anything else. &when it becomes too overwhelming, i just have to go eat some pasta. or take my paperback mystery to the cozy bed. or take a long walk with the camera. &i have been doing much of all that lately.

a slight shift of energy at the change of light &seasons, so maybe handmade things will be happening faster now. i hope.

&yes. that is a wine stain. i know. i KNOW! i should only drink white at the artTable. like i have learned to do when i am out in public. such a slob…

other things in progress - contemplating a near future with an even further reduction in finances (but hey - if those poor fellows at AIG can do it, so can i!), manual archiving, contemplating cooperative living, contemplating Going Underground, laundry, last cup of coffee, continued downsizing and minimizing.

i might change the way i look at them. and capture them.
or the color.
or the transformation.
but i will never get tired of them. never.

haha. i love to make broad statements like that sometimes.
everyone knows that libras change their mind constantly.
it makes life … so … confusing.

finally - another little picture gallery : flint hills towns, kansas

i really liked this little trip. and i love many of the images. i didn’t tamper with them very much, though it was such a dreary and flat day. it took me forever to get them together and posted though. i was actually busy this week! at work! and at home - i just didn’t feel like sitting in front of the computer at night too. artTable instead.

today i feel rather content about a dullish weekend at home, after all of my recent weekend excitements. i have lots to play with and traci and i will go see the Percolator opening tonight. a long butt-shrinking hike and some vacuuming! yeah! at 4am i awoke with the pale book in progress in my head. i know what to do with all those white garages now.

onward…

mcFarland kansas

a good weekend. errands done and other mundane things. then a small road trip. i felt a need to be alone and quiet and away. i didn’t even take CD’s for the car! or turn on the satellite radio. i found 3 new little towns and a beautiful road through the Flint Hills. so wonderful. in the first small town was a yard full of bad old vintage cars. i loved them. the mechanic came out and chatted. he had a ponytail dipped in pink jello. too late i wished i had the nerve to ask if he might strip and pose in the old cars. with the pink ponytail. sigh. there was also a haunted house. decrepit old places and barking terriers.

another town was famous for cheese (Alma). i didn’t realize it was also famous for stone buildings. oh my. they were so wonderful. the cheese factory was closed and it was late so i had to keep driving. i passed through another small old railroad town. everywhere i walked around and it was good. i had a frightening feeling of loving Kansas. i have pictures but am going through a new phase, where i don’t want to just stickR on flickR - so when the little gallery is made i will share. i really don’t know what to do with all these pictures now. there are so many.

on sunday a pleasant visit with a new maybeFriend, but more talking than amazing explorations this time. that’s fine. conversation can also be amazing. as can long coats, carefully arranged industrial containers and light through the small blinds.

came home to find the carpet soaked in my nestRoom (again). Big Rains this weekend. more tonight. made a complaint and requested some maintenance FAST and came home tonight to a big noisy fan stuck under the corner of the carpet. so aHA. now i can see under there. how bad it is. and it is. it smells terrible and i am coughing. i wish i had elsewhere to sleep. the smell depresses me badly and on top of Monday. ohgod. i might have to take those sleeping pills. i don’t even have a good book.

so. onward.
