it was lovely having a 3-day weekend. i have wandered, made pictures, played at the artTable, laundry, cleaned up & finished movingIN, acquired foodstuffs on my bike, read until my eyes broke, listened to the debate on iTunes, slept, almost strangled King Tubby, had my tinygirl become 20 years old (still not quite believing that part though) and longed for a NewLife. now i am cooking a pot of mexican beans and drinking a glass of red wine, still dreaming and longing, but i will go glue asian paper ephemera into a book until it is time for reading again. life is quiet and strange. i am calm but not happy but not *unhappy* either. i guess i just am. i guess that is fine.

the return of the Rebel ArtCard!

i have been needing a project. so here is a little one. (i’m trying to think of something *daily* to do during October, still…)

a new friend asked last week if i ever made ATC’s. i spouted back that i made Rebel ArtCards! and told her about them. and decided that might be a good way to jumpstart my malingering creativity. it IS! two of my art goals for the next year are to use up the stuff i have - and to fill up the big canvasses, of which i am very intimidated. i have to take breaks and make little things. so … these again! i have been having fun!

ok, it’s my birthday. who wants to play with me?

of course, playing Rebel ArtCard, we have no rules. just send me your addy [cobaltika]ATgmail and i will send you one. be assured that it will not fit in a regulation “ATC sleeve” ha ha ha! you don’t have to reciprocate, but i will include an address of someone who would LOVE to receive a surprise and if you like, send to them! mysteries and surprises are fun! i have about 2 dozen. a few are spoken for, and if LOTS of people respond, why, i’ll just make another batch.

now i am going to buy some new shoes then play at my artTable ALL of the rest of the DAY!

sad to say, i think i might almost be over my jamcams. i have three of them and none capture very nicely. they are definitely not dependable! one can be almost sure that the first 8 images will disappear and the dumb little 8-volt battery will probably run out. but the surprises are appreciated. usually the images are very dark or outright black and require much photoshop play, which of course i enjoy. ok. i take it back. i still like my jamcams. and in a way, it is sort of exciting to go on an outing with only a jamcam in hand. it is so risky! ha ha. i still don’t want a DSLR.

work work work all weekend. almost. there was some reading, eating and a short trip to Target involved, too. but today i needed a break for some fresh air and exercise. i took my jamcam and headed out. walked for 2 hours. saw some things. acquired more library books. realize that i now feel like a ghost in this town. sort of invisible. definitely not belonging. a little melancholy. maybe more than a little. but i liked this boy and his dog. what a pair. my butt hurts terribly. am i really that out of shape? bad.

i am thinking about a project. i need one.
