i must really be an image glamorizor because this doesn’t look nearly as bad bad bad as it was…and became…and still is. the move took forever and cost a lot. i’m sure i have more things now than when i last moved and i haven’t bought things in the past 5 years and i got rid of SO MUCH. i don’t understand. i just don’t. anyway. i’m in. still have a couple of things from the basement of the old house and cleaning to do tomorrow. i feel really lonely and like the ultimate alien in this new environment. i guess i can make it work though. the place is ok, quite a bit seedier than my first impression. especially the bathroom. the shabby chic shower curtain helped some. don’t worry. i didn’t get a really floofy one.

it would scare you how much i have got done today.

today was the last morning of nearly five years of mornings that i have walked this path to my office at the university. i have photographed the walk with an assortment of cameras, but mostly with the little pencam. so i loaded her with batteries and took her out for one last walk to the office on this route this morning. it was a little bittersweet. it is such a pretty neighborhood. click above to join me, if you like?

i am very bad this weekend, it seems. it is magazine-making weekend and instead of working all friday night, i went out with traci to the percolator opening and the busker festival downtown. we also ate dinner at la parilla. it was hot as hell out but still it was GREAT to get out in the world and even make pictures. i felt human again. THANKS TRACI!!! i especially like the percolator, because it is in the alley! yes!

still bad this morning, because instead of working i am playing with said pictures. and it is raining!! happy!

now … WORK … PACK … CLEAN.

i signed the lease yesterday.

don’t worry! i haven’t packed these babies away yet - or the shipping materials either! it’s not too late! and they really really want new homes. they are so tired of mine. and are NOT going to be happy packed away in dark cupboards in a little one bedroom apartment.

maybe soon there will be a new home and rest and a feeling of being settled. not yet though. i’m still not quite sure where i will land and don’t want to speak until there are papers signed and money has changed hands. it feels precarious. yet i am asked “what do *you* have to worry about?” hmmph. each person has their own levels of fear and insecurity and stress. i have mine, for certain. having the artStuff packed up for almost a month is unsettling and i am finding other projects, like furniture-painting! mmmmmmm. sage green wicker. the clearing out is very gratifying. betsy and her friend passed through for an overnight stay on the way to california from boston. driving a 14′ uHaul. i was in awe of them - two city girls with little driving experience, undertaking such a trip. they have worked all summer and saved every penny. betsy took lots of stuff away, too! wheee! mostly i am only good for packing/clearingout, reading embarrassingly light mystery novels in a cool bed and … waiting.
