tracery

from my new nailpolish camera, a cheezy black plastic point&shoot gifted by traci. i couldn’t find my clear nailpolish, so used this sheer beigey stuff. got too much on. tried to remove with nailpolish remover. probably ate the plastic lens. had fun anyway. some were actually lovely.

this is a good weekend. they usually are lately. partly the relief of being Not At The Office. but also because they are peaceful, productive and FUN. my poet and i are doing extremely well at companionship, two aliens that we are. we are more relaxed now than two months ago (whew), but we often still act like two kids on a Playing House Adventure.

yesterday was billpaying, messing with journal stuff (i’m obsessed with putting journal archives all in one place - but not all of them. some will never be public again), buying groceries, taking film in, getting a FABULOUS haircut (my mother’s bDay gift!). i didn’t whack it all off, but it is just made … neat … with layers and stuff. oh i love it! yes i know. my mother said the same thing. picture please? i wanted to show the girls. they would be proud of me. a Hairdo! in the afternoon, we went to the Fitch Nature Preserve, a good woods, not too far for my car to go. it was very sweet. i saw a nuthatch walking upside down on a branch. we heard owls, as it was late. the colors and light were beautiful. came home, made new mexican enchiladas (stacked with a fried egg on top), watched The Blue Angel. to sleep laughing. awake same.

today is photoplay, artTable and messing around. later we might walk at the lake, after we go to pay the rent. there is a big fat lasagna made of mushrooms, garlic and ricotta, with toasted pinenuts for Platero, bubbling in the oven. maybe not the greatest for a day returned to 90 degrees, but when else could i make it? only the weekend! the poet is out on my bike, which he loves lately. next year we will get another.

i am happy.
